DTM
DTM, which stands for Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters, is a touring car racing series that originated in Germany. It was first held in 1984 and has since become one of the most popular touring car racing series in Europe.
The series was originally contested by German automakers Audi, BMW, and Mercedes-Benz, who each built specially-prepared racing versions of their production vehicles. The races were held on a combination of street circuits and permanent racetracks, and featured close and competitive racing between the three automakers.
In the 1990s, the series began to expand outside of Germany and became more international in nature, attracting manufacturers and teams from other countries. In the 2000s, the series underwent a number of changes, including the introduction of new regulations and the use of standardized control parts.
Despite these changes, the core philosophy of DTM has remained the same: to provide close and competitive racing between high-performance touring cars from some of the world's leading automakers. Today, DTM continues to be one of the most popular and exciting touring car racing series in the world, and continues to attract some of the best drivers and teams from around the globe.
