Motorsports games has announced Le Mans Ultimate

Just as I suspected back in early May, it looks like Motorsports games will be repurposing much of rFactor2’s assets for an official racing simulator focused on the World Endurance Champoinship (WEC) series. Just like rFactor 2, the development studio that will be responsible for Le Mans Ultimate will be Studio397.

Le Mans Ultimate is now the official game for both the FIA World Endurance Championship and the iconic 24 Hours of Le Mans so if you were hoping to see iRacing host the next Virtual24H, you’re out of luck. The good news is that with the FIA’s full support of this title, this likely means that rFactor 2 will no longer be used and that should make Max Verstappen quite pleased!

While it may seem like an attempt for Motorsports Games to cash out twice on these assetts, Le Mans Ultimate with feature the ability to team up with friends to compete in endurance racing.

I personally had the opportunity to see Le Mans Ultimate while attending the 24H of Le Mans but the line was long, and the content looked just like it did in rFactor 2.

The game will remain exclusive to PC for at least another year and they expect this game will be supported over a prolonged period, with regular updates and content added during its lifecycle.
